"My vision has evolved from simply training my clients to educating them and inspiring a step onto a higher performance plane”
Meet Charles Swetta
Functional Patterns Human Biomechanical Specialist
Whether it is that they want to straighten up their posture while standing or moving, or get rid of that nagging ache that’s now become a part of their life, or just to get rid of that saying, “it’s just old age” and want to be able to move comfortably like an adolescent, he is driven to spread accurate and actionable knowledge to those in pain and those who are pain-free for the sole purpose of better movement in everyday life.
He thrives for the self-improvement of others. Using the Functional Patterns methodology at its core, Charles combines self-myofascial release with postural correction and three-dimensional exercises for better posture and movement awareness for his clients. These methods boost biomechanical capabilities by analyzing individual movement patterns before applying correctional measures for higher quality everyday movement.

Way back when
My personal journey in the health industry started in my early teens with a background in athletics, field sports, weightlifting and gymnastics.
After a lifetime of being active and always a member of the gym, there were always nagging aches and pains. How could this happen if I was always “looking after my body?”
Enter Functional Patterns. The answer was about how efficiently I was looking after my body.
Meet Nina Miletic
Functional Patterns Human Biomechanical Specialist
Nina’s goal is to enable others to live a sustainable healthy lifestyle for longevity.
I was always an active child, playing many sports throughout my primary and secondary school years. However, I frequently felt joint pain including what I was told were “growing pains”. I continued to keep an active lifestyle and play sport competitively until a hip injury I had accumulated from running became chronic. Unable to be physically active and attempt to achieve my physical goals, my injury was taking a toll not only on my physical health but mental state as well.
I had tried a number of different treatments to alleviate my pain, from physiotherapy and massage to ultrasound, laser, and pulsed electromagnetic fields therapy. I had even begun talks with surgeons, only to find temporary relief from treatments, provided I rested and stayed away from my sport.
I came across Functional Patterns and having tried everything else decided to give it a go. I wish I had come across it sooner and not as a last resort. After training Functional Patterns, my injury had subsided and I’m now in the process of being able to scale the power and efficiency of my movement patterns without pain arising. Functional Patterns gave me a way of training and rehab that did not damage my body, a newfound understanding of how the human body works, and by extension, my mental health back as it’s highly linked to physical health.
My goal is now to continue improving my own body and help others live a sustainably healthy lifestyle for longevity by building a stable and resilient physical foundation upon which to move.

Taking into account what anthropologists have confirmed that as human beings we evolved to stand, walk, run and throw respectively. All Functional Patterns training exercises are then based upon the ability of improving and mastering those four functions. Whether there is a need to build muscle for a specific reason, move in 3 dimensional spaces for sport or everyday life, improve chronic pain, or correct posture, using gait as a fundamental base line has helped me and my clients achieve their goals.
